ANNUAL EOHCB MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION INCREASE

As of 1 January 2025, annual EOHCB membership fees will be subject to an increase aligned with the Bargaining Levy for non-parties. This adjustment is in accordance with the provisions of the EOHCB Constitution and Main Collective Agreement & Agency Shop Agreement for the Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Beauty, and Skincare Industry.

Understanding the Increase

The adjustment ensures consistency with the legislated contributions required under the Main Collective Agreement. The Bargaining Levy for non-parties is stipulated to promote fairness, covering the costs of services that benefit all employers and employees, irrespective of their membership status with a recognised party and or freedom of association.

This increase aims to maintain equitable contributions, ensuring that the industry participate in the equitable funding of the collective administration, dispute resolution services, and overall sectoral benefits managed by the bargaining council.

What This Means for Members

From 1 January 2025, all members will see their annual membership fees adjusted to match the updated levy amount. This is a necessary step to align with statutory obligations and to continue providing members with access to representation, guidance, and sector-specific resources.

The Main Collective Agreement and the Agency Shop Agreement form the legal foundation for this adjustment. These agreements empower bargaining councils to collect levies from all employers and employees within the sector, including non-parties.

Key Benefits of Membership

By maintaining membership and contributing to the adjusted fee:

  • Representation: Members receive support in workplace disputes and legal compliance issues.

  • Compliance Guidance: Employers benefit from assistance in meeting industry-specific legal requirements.

  • Access to Resources: Members can access updates, tools, and services designed to enhance workplace operations.

  • Members of either party to the Bargaining Council, could participate in the negotiations process relating to the rules and regulations as well as conditions of employment of the industry

Members are encouraged to review their current subscription plans and prepare for the adjusted fees effective in January 2025. Members should also ensure that payroll systems are updated to reflect these changes.
