SOUTH AFRICA'S NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE EFFECTIVE 1 MARCH 2023

The Minister of Employment and Labour, today published a Government Gazette, giving notice of an increase in South Africa's National Minimum Wage, effective as of 1 March 2023.

The ordinary hourly rate will increase by 9.62% from 2022. Employers who have entered into learnership agreements with learners need to remunerate learners according to schedule 2.

The gazette is attached below for your perusal along with an image illustrating the increased remuneration as of 1 March 2023 based on a 45-hour work week.
