JUNIOR INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS OFFICER

EASTERN CAPE

(Full-time position – Remote working)


QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of, and Experience in Employers’ Organisations – Legislation, History, Functions, Processes, and Structures.

  • Have strong administrative and finance management, labour relations support, and sales skills.

  • Computer Literate in Microsoft Office and virtual/digital engagement platforms.

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Well-groomed and confident.

  • Willing to travel and has a valid driver’s licence and reliable motor vehicle.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.

  • No criminal convictions.

  • Have a remote workstation and electricity backup system during loadshedding.

  • Available as of May 2024.

  • Must reside in GQEBERHA (PORT ELIZABETH) or be willing to relocate at your own cost.


ADVANTAGES:

  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations/Law.

  • Previous experience in responsibilities relating to Administration, Finance Management, Labour Relations, Dispute Resolution, Sales, and Business Development.

  • Knowledge and experience within the Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Skincare, and Beauty Industry.

  • Experience working on SAP.

  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out administrative, secretarial, and accounting functions for the region.

  • Recruit new members for the Organisation (Business Development).

  • Assist and ensure members are compliant in terms of the Industry prescribed Main Collective Agreement and South African Employment and Labour Legislation.

  • Provide members with sound labour support and representation.

  • Build professional relationships with employers, suppliers, and industry role players.

  • Maintain and provide accurate records and reports.

  • Develop, manage, and present projects & events associated with the Organisation.

  • Professional interaction and liaison with Bargaining Council agents and Trade Union representatives.

  • Handling and resolving queries from and on behalf of members.

  • Weekly planning and attending to scheduled appointments.

  • Plan and host events focused on the core and elective services of the Organisation.


REMUNERATION:

Basic: R14 700.00                                 Travel allowance: R3 259.50

Data allowance: R371.00                       13th cheque payable & Incentive scheme


Total monthly cost to company: R18 330.50

The Employers’ Organisation for Hairdressing, Cosmetology and Beauty (EOHCB) is a constituted registered Employers’ Organisation as per the Labour Relations Act, 66 of 1995, and has been representing its members since 1947. We celebrated 75 years of adding value to the businesses of our members in 2022.


The EOHCB is an organisation that promotes the interest of its members by protecting and supporting the needs of employers through Collective Bargaining and Labour Relations assistance and development.


The EOHCB is the only employers’ organisation within South Africa that is a party to the National Bargaining Council for Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Beauty, and Skincare Industry and who engages in collective bargaining on behalf of its members - the employers and legal owners of the industry.

The organisation represents employers on a regular basis at Bargaining Council and CCMA level, for dispute resolution through conciliation and arbitration.
